School Nurse/Health Information
The purpose of the school health services is to protect, maintain, and improve the health of all students. Students and staff are encouraged to take advantage of the available school health services.
Role of the School Nurse
The professional school nurse employed by the Mt. Vernon/Enola School District, works to strengthen and facilitate the educational process by improving and protecting the health status of children and by modification of health related barriers to the learning process of individual children. The major focus of school nursing services is the prevention of illness and disability, the early detection and correction of health problems, and motivation of good and positive health practices.
