Attention Warhawk families! 🎓
Starting with the class of 2027, all Arkansas public high school students must complete 75 hours of documented community service between grades 9–12 to graduate. This requirement is part of the LEARNS Act (Act 237 of 2023) and encourages civic engagement and personal growth.
Key details:
Students can accumulate hours at their own pace. For example, a student might complete 30 hours in 9th grade and 45 in 10th grade to meet the total requirement.
Students transferring into an Arkansas school after 9th grade must complete a prorated number of hours based on their grade level at the time of transfer.
Service activities should include preparation, action, and reflection components. They can be completed inside or outside Arkansas, before, during, or after school hours, and must be approved by the local school district.
For more information and resources, visit the Arkansas Department of Education's community service learning page: https://dese.ade.arkansas.gov/Offices/learning-services/curriculum-support/community-service-learning
Let’s work together to support our students in fulfilling this important requirement!

These students were nominated by their teachers and joined 8th graders from the other Faulkner County Schools. Achievements of these students were announced including volunteer service to their community, academic success, involvement in extracurricular activities, and leadership qualities. These kids represented MVE well!

Our AP Calculus AB students are working hard preparing for the Advanced Placement Exam on May 12! Congratulations to Jason Jobe, our March Staff Warhawk Pride Award recipient! Coach Blocker and Carlton nominated him, saying he exemplifies our core value of family by going above and beyond for our students. Coach Jobe took time away from spring practice to bring the baseball and softball teams to the regional tournament to cheer on our Warhawk basketball teams. His commitment to building a supportive and united Warhawk family does not go unnoticed!
Thank you, Coach Jobe, for embodying the spirit of a Warhawk!

This month, we proudly recognize Legion Brownlee, Josh Kerr, Braiden Metz, Maggie Emery, and Alyssa Gilbert as our February Warhawk Pride recipients! These students have volunteered as mentors, taking time during lunch or before school to support underclassmen who have faced challenges in their transition to high school.
This work exemplifies our core values of family and integrity, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for their peers. Thank you for making a difference!

We have a power outage at the High School. The Entergy Estimated Restoration time is 8:30 am.
We will still be in session this morning and are hopeful for an early restoration time.#FlightoftheWarhawk

We are excited to recognize our January Warhawk Pride Recipients: Ben Thomason, Audrey Thomason, Dylan Henry, Abby Winters, and Kinley Burns! These students have gone above and beyond to demonstrate the core values that make us proud to be Warhawks.
Ben Thomason and Dylan Henry were nominated by their bus driver, Ms. Britney, for their quick thinking and leadership. In December, when she had an issue with her bus, they jumped in to guide her to a safe area and called for assistance. When it was time to transfer to a new bus, Dylan, Ben, and Audrey Thomason stepped up to help transfer students, making the process smoother and less stressful for everyone.
Abby Winters consistently stays after the bell to help pick up supplies and put up chairs while many classmates rush out. Her willingness to help does not go unnoticed!
Kinley Burns showed great care and responsibility by finding an adult to assist a student experiencing a medical issue when she couldn't locate the nurse.
Thank you all for your kindness, leadership, and dedication to helping others! Keep soaring, Warhawks!
