We love our SROs! 💙

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Officer Sullivan and Officer Jones go above and beyond each day to build relationships, support our students, and help keep our campus safe. Their presence, leadership, and positive impact make a difference in the lives of our Warhawks.

We are grateful for all they do for our school community!

Our Warhawks have many varied interests, and we love celebrating how well-rounded they are. We’re proud to have a place where all of those passions can shine!

Sophomore Kylie Jo Lasley has been tearing it up in the show ring this year and also serves as the Arkansas Junior Cattleman’s Association Secretary. Meanwhile, 3rd grade little sister Kentley prefers the rodeo arena. She and her horse, Fred, are making some impressive runs! This weekend she placed 1st in Poles with the fastest run of the day across all age divisions! We are so proud of these Warhawks and their dedication to pursuing what they love.

Special delivery at MVE! 💙

Our Kindergarten students recently wrote their own stories — and some even wrote poetry — all at their grade level to encourage reading and spark their creativity. They illustrated their characters as part of learning about 2D shapes and design in both art and the classroom.

Then our High School Art students stepped in and brought those drawings to life as stuffed “stuffies,” transforming 2D creations into 3D works of art. This week, they delivered those creations to the Elementary — and the smiles said it all.

Moments like this are what make our district special. Students are creating bonds, making memories together, and reaching across campuses to support and celebrate one another. It’s a beautiful example of family in action and learning connected across grade levels.

We love seeing our Warhawks connect, collaborate, and lift each other up.

It’s Teacher Tuesday, and today we’re spotlighting Mrs. Katie Carr! 📚🏃‍♀️

After a long day, her go-to comfort combo is pizza, a Dr Pepper, and cookies — a winning lineup! 🍕🥤🍪

Her dream vacation spot is Montana (just not during the winter). She loves being outdoors and would be all about the hiking and fresh air.

If she weren’t a teacher, Mrs. Carr says she’d open a coffee, dirty soda, and bakery shop — which honestly sounds amazing. And when it comes to weekends or summer break, you’ll usually find her outside soaking it all in… as long as it’s not cold or snowy!

We’re grateful to have Mrs. Carr as part of the Warhawk Family, both in the classroom and as a coach.

“One thing I think is so important for parents to understand is how much of a difference just one year of preschool can make in a child.” — Mrs. Sarah Loyd, Lead PreK Teacher 💙

That year isn’t just about learning rules and routines (although that is a huge bonus!). It’s also about timing. Preschool meets children when their brains are ready to learn and grow in powerful ways.

If you were to walk into one of our kindergarten classrooms on the first day of school, you could easily spot the students who attended our preschool and those who did not. The confidence, readiness, and comfort with learning really stand out.

We’re proud of the strong foundation our PreK program provides for our youngest Warhawks.

Thinking about PreK for your child? Mt. Vernon-Enola PreK registration is now open for the 2026–2027 school year!

Our program focuses on early learning, social development, and helping students feel confident and ready for Kindergarten. We love partnering with families to support each child’s growth from the very beginning.

It’s Teacher Tuesday, and today we’re shining the spotlight on Mrs. Gayla Wade! 💙🍎

If Mrs. Wade could instantly master a new skill, it would be learning to read music. She loves to sing and dreams of playing the guitar or piano someday. Music already plays a big role in her mornings — she listens to Abide by Aaron Williams or Gratitude by Brandon Lake every day on the drive to school to start her day with the right mindset. 🎶

Her dream vacation is Hawaii, where she’d soak up all the beauty nature has to offer, from volcanoes to snorkeling in the ocean and everything in between. 🌺🌊

In the classroom, Mrs. Wade is passionate about helping students grow not just academically, but as people. She focuses on integrity, honesty, and responsibility, reminding her students to tell the truth, take ownership of their actions, and move forward doing their best. Morning affirmations are part of their routine, helping students learn how powerful positive self-talk can be.

What she loves most about being part of the Warhawk Family is the small-town feel — being truly part of a community rather than lost in it — and knowing this school values what really matters.

We’re so thankful for the heart, care, and character Mrs. Wade pours into her students every day.
