Something BIG is coming to Warhawk Athletics… and you get to be part of history!
Our new Warhawk mascot needs a name, and every penny counts! 💰 Cast your vote for Willy, Wally, or Wiley in the elementary cafeteria. The Penny War starts Monday, September 22 and runs through Friday, October 3—whichever name collects the most pennies will WIN!
This isn’t just about a mascot… it’s the start of a NEW ERA in Warhawk Athletics. Big changes are on the horizon, and this is your first chance to get in on the action. 💪
Even better: all money raised will help fund elementary student events. Make your vote count, support your school, and be part of something exciting! 💙
Get ready, Warhawks… it’s time to soar!

At Mt. Vernon-Enola, athletics brings our community together. From the gym to the ballfields, Warhawk pride runs deep — and our student athletes feel that support every time they compete.
We’re excited to offer Athletic Sponsorship opportunities for the 2025–2026 school year. Whether it’s a banner in the gym, recognition at games, or weekly shoutouts, there’s a level for everyone who wants to be part of the Warhawk tradition.
If you’d like to learn more about becoming a sponsor, reach out to Athletic Director Jarod Mason (jarod.mason@mvewarhawks.org) or Social Media Director Kerri Pearce (kpearce@mvewarhawks.org).
Together, we can make this season one to remember. 💙

Terri is such an inspiring part of our team. She encourages all her students to be empathetic and kind, and she truly models that in her own life. She believes life is so much better when we can all do this for each other.
Outside of school, Terri loves spending time with her family. Her kids are grown, but she cherishes those weekends when everyone comes home to Nana's. 🏡💙
What truly inspires Terri is the incredible resiliency of our students. She sees so many overcome huge challenges to earn their high school diploma, and their determination pushes her to be and do better every day. We are so grateful for teachers like Terri who pour so much into our students!

We are so thankful for her dedication to our students and staff. Her classroom is a space where creativity, confidence, and expression come to life every single day.
Art education plays a powerful role in the development of young minds. It fosters critical thinking, encourages problem solving, boosts emotional intelligence, and supports academic success across the board. According to the University of Florida, "Art education strengthens creativity and innovation, skills that are essential in today’s evolving world" (Source: University of Florida, Importance of Art in Education).
Thank you, Mrs. Mills, for making MVE a more colorful, creative, and inspiring place to learn.

What a week it was for hands-on learning! 🤯 Our students were busy in both 8th and 9th grade, applying science concepts in exciting and memorable ways.
In 9th grade physical science, our students put their knowledge of chemistry and physics to the test by creating boats powered by a vinegar and baking soda reaction. 🚤💨 This was an excellent demonstration of both chemistry and physics in action! The chemical reaction between the acid (vinegar) and the base (baking soda) produces carbon dioxide gas, which then creates propulsion based on Newton's Third Law of Motion. It's so awesome to see them apply what they've learned in the classroom to a fun, real-world project. 🚀
Meanwhile, in an important lesson about making good choices, our 8th graders got to play with Fatal Vision Goggles. These specialized glasses simulate the dangerous effects of impaired driving, causing distorted vision, lack of coordination, and delayed reaction time. Using the goggles, students attempted simple tasks like walking in a straight line, which proved to be surprisingly difficult. This powerful experience is a safe and effective way to teach students about the risks of driving under the influence and reinforces the importance of making responsible choices now and in the future. 🚫🚗
