What a week at MVE!

Our elementary students enjoyed a visit from the NED Show and had the chance to practice their yo-yo skills. Kindergarten students captured special cap and gown pictures, and we welcomed our future students during Kindergarten Signing Day.

At the high school, several 11th and 12th grade students participated in a week-long Manufacturing Bootcamp facilitated by UACCM. Students earned forklift certification and gained hands-on experience with measurements, hand tools (including building benches), electrical circuits, and hydraulics. Students were also competing in CDE competitions, continuing to represent MVE at a high level.

And of course, it was a busy week in athletics with track, baseball, and softball in action.

Take a look at some of the highlights:

We had two junior high students break school records this week.

Newlyn White set a new school record in the 800m on Tuesday with a time of 2:58.

GW Peterson broke the school shot put record with a throw of 30-9.

Congratulations to both athletes on this outstanding achievement. Your hard work and dedication are paying off, and we are proud of the way you continue to represent MVE.

We are proud to share that two of our 8th grade students have been recognized by the Conway Noon Rotary for the Outstanding Eighth Grade Achievement Award.

Ty Abbott is an all A student who is actively involved in basketball, track, cross country, FBLA, and Student Council. He also serves his church through fundraising events and youth services. Ty is focused on finishing the year strong and preparing for college, where he hopes to compete as a student-athlete.

Karlie Knight is also an all A student and is involved in softball, basketball, track and field, cross country, and FFA. She serves her church as a member of the worship band at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Karlie’s goals include maintaining her academic success, growing through ATLAS testing, and pursuing a future career as a veterinarian.

Both of these students represent our school and community with pride, leadership, and strong character. Congratulations to Ty and Karlie on this well-deserved recognition.

Teacher Tuesday 💙🤍

This week we’re spotlighting Coach Jason Jobe, who teaches Civics/Economics and World History and serves as the head coach of our Lady Warhawks Softball team. What inspires him most is the opportunity to build strong relationships with students and players while helping them reach their goals.

After a long day, you’ll likely find him enjoying a steak and potatoes dinner, and when he gets the chance to travel, Switzerland or Austria to see the Alps is at the top of his list. On the weekends, he enjoys catching a college softball game or spending time on the golf course with friends.

We are thankful for the integrity, leadership, and steady commitment Coach Jobe brings to our Warhawk Family each day 💙🤍

We’re proud to share that Alisa Kindsfater, a teacher at Mt. Vernon-Enola High School and a 2025–2026 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow, recently had an op-ed published in the Arkansas Advocate.

In her article, Ms. Kindsfater highlights the importance of a balanced approach to artificial intelligence in education—one that provides meaningful training for teachers, helps students understand the complexities of the technology, and establishes clear ethical guidelines so AI supports, rather than replaces, foundational learning skills.

Rachel Rigsby, Arkansas Policy Manager with Teach Plus, shared that Ms. Kindsfater’s voice, dedication, and leadership have been a valuable part of the fellowship and an inspiration to fellow educators.

We are proud of the leadership our educators show both inside and outside the classroom and appreciate the opportunity for their work to contribute to conversations that support student success across Arkansas.
