We’d like to recognize Nabholz Construction for being a valued community partner! 🏗️💙
In December, Nabholz treated our staff to breakfast on two different mornings — with all the pancakes, bacon, and eggs we could eat! It was such a thoughtful gesture and a perfect boost during a busy time of year.
Ms. Sheila Burroughs, Director of Workforce Development, also met with our high school students to share information about apprenticeship opportunities available through Nabholz.
We’re grateful for their continued support and commitment to helping our students explore real-world career paths. Thank you, Nabholz Construction!

Help us welcome Deputy Brandon Jones to the Warhawk Family! 💙
Deputy Jones grew up in West Texas, where he began his career in law enforcement. After several years of experience in Texas, he relocated to Faulkner County with his wife and three children.
Outside of work, Deputy Jones enjoys spending time outdoors, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and visiting the local gym. He also serves as a Youth Pastor at Bible Baptist Church in Conway.
He has always had a strong passion for law enforcement and serving others and is excited to bring that dedication to Mt. Vernon-Enola.
Welcome to MVE, Deputy Jones — we’re thrilled to have you on our team!

It’s Teacher Tuesday, and today we’re spotlighting Mrs. Thomas!
If she could take her dream vacation, you’d find her exploring the castles of Ireland and Scotland, soaking up the history and the incredible scenery. And after a long day, nothing hits the spot for her like a cozy bowl of potato soup.
When school’s out, Mrs. Thomas loves to spend her time hiking, traveling, and cruising. The Caribbean is her happy place—sunshine, ocean breezes, and instant stress relief.
If she could master any skill instantly? Cake decorating. She’s a baker at heart but hasn’t taken the leap into the decorating world just yet.
What inspires her most as a teacher is watching her students grow, succeed, and step confidently into adulthood. Seeing former students thrive—both in and out of the classroom—reminds her why she loves this work.
Thanks for all you do, Mrs. Thomas!

Help us welcome Ms. Megan Waters to the Warhawk Family!
Ms. Waters shared, “I love the community. I’ve subbed for a few years now, so I know most of the kids. MVE is our home, and I couldn’t be happier to be where I am.”
We’re thrilled to have her officially join our team and continue making a difference in the lives of our students. Welcome home, Ms. Waters!

It’s Teacher Tuesday, and today we’re spotlighting Coach Brent Race!
If Coach Race weren’t in education, he’d still be rooted in athletics—working alongside a local golf professional or coaching fitness and sport performance. His love for sports runs deep, and it shows in the way he leads his baseball players and students.
His guiding advice is simple but powerful: Respect. Accountability. Commitment. Effort. These four pillars shape how he teaches, coaches, and lives. He believes that when these principles show up consistently, they lead to success in anything a person chooses to pursue.
If he could instantly master a skill, it would be golf—his favorite pastime outside of baseball and a sport he enjoys sharing with family and friends. On weekends and summer breaks, you’ll often find him outdoors golfing or hiking with his growing family as they await the arrival of their first baby in April. He’s also happy with a good movie, a Razorback game, or cheering for the Astros.
His dream vacation? A trip to Scotland and Ireland to play some of the world’s most historic golf courses.
We’re grateful to have Coach Race as part of our Warhawk Family!

It's Teacher Tuesday, so say hello to our amazing 2nd grade teacher, Samantha Patterson! She’s inspired every day by watching her former students grow up and do big things — the kind of moments that remind her why she loves teaching. 💙
When she’s not in the classroom, you can usually find her enjoying Mexican food after a long day 🌮 or recharging on a quiet hike where she can unplug and reset. 🥾✨
We’re so thankful to have Mrs. Patterson as part of our Warhawk Family. She brings heart, dedication, and a whole lot of joy to our school. #FlightoftheWarhawk

December was full of activity, creativity, and holiday cheer across Mt. Vernon-Enola School District. Our students and staff packed this month with hands-on learning, service projects, celebrations, and a few surprises along the way. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights.
At MVE High School, students explored careers in healthcare, construction, manufacturing, and lineman technology. Classes traveled to First Electric and Nabholz, seniors visited with Blackstone Construction, and our Warhawks put their problem-solving skills to the test during a cybersecurity escape room challenge. We also saw creative engineering in action as physical science students designed cars to protect an egg during a crash. Add in WWII plane builds, Christmas card outreach, the band concert, Financial Aid Night, and the spirited Warhawk Pom-Pom Pursuit — it was a full and memorable month.
Our MVE Elementary students were just as busy. From sleigh rides in PE and STEM adventures to dress-up days, Christmas parties, and elf visits, our younger Warhawks brought plenty of joy to campus. The Christmas program filled the auditorium, classrooms celebrated big, and our District Christmas Breakfast brought everyone together to wrap up the year with warmth and community.

Teacher Tuesday spotlight: Morgan Cox 🎉
Morgan Cox is inspired every day by her students ❤️. She loves them BIG, and not a day goes by that she isn’t humbled or learning something from them. Some of the best lessons about people and life have come from the little people in her life 🌟.
Her advice for students: the test isn’t everything… but developing the discipline to be ready for it, is 📝💪.
After 31 years, her advice for teachers: "No significant learning occurs without a significant relationship." ~Dr. James Comer. Take the time to learn who your students truly are, beyond family, sports, or hobbies. When students believe in you, trust you, and feel a connection, they will work harder than ever ✨.
What she loves most about being part of the Warhawk family is how we make sure no student falls through the cracks. Everyone communicates, supports, and cares for kids academically, socially, and emotionally 🤝.
We’re proud to have Morgan Cox shaping the Warhawk family #FlightoftheWarhawk
