This week, they generously provided snacks and drinks for our high school athletes during Spring Sports Media Day. We are grateful for partners like Mt. Vernon Baptist Church who consistently show up for our Warhawks and help make days like this possible.

Today we’re celebrating Mrs. Marcia Starr!
When it comes to comfort food, Mexican cuisine tops her list every time. As a teacher, she finds her greatest inspiration in her students and the joy they bring into the classroom.
On weekends or during summer break, Mrs. Starr loves spending time with her family—or enjoying a little retail therapy when the mood strikes. And if she could take her dream vacation, she’d head straight to Hawaii to soak in its natural beauty and watch those unforgettable sunsets on the beach.
One of her favorite classroom traditions is starting each school year with getting-to-know-you activities. It’s a simple but meaningful way to build community and connection from day one.
What she loves most about being part of the Warhawk Family? The constant support and encouragement everyone shares.
We’re grateful for you, Mrs. Starr!

Since graduating from MVE, JB has pursued a career in the United States Air Force as a C-5M flight engineer. He took time to talk with our seniors, share his journey, and discuss career options available after graduation.
Thank you, JB, for coming back to MVE, investing in our students, and sharing your experience. We are extremely grateful for your service and so proud to call you a Warhawk. 💙

We’re taking a moment to thank our Mt. Vernon-Enola School Board for their time, dedication, and leadership in serving our district, staff, and students. 💙
We are so grateful for:
Graham Peterson – President
Scott Meaders – Vice President
Josh Moss – Secretary
Amanda Simpson – Disbursement Officer
Jason Ingram – Alternate Disbursement Officer
Your commitment to our schools and community makes a lasting impact every day. Thank you for your service and support of our Warhawk Family.
We also want to celebrate some amazing individuals who make MVE special.
The January High Flyer Award was presented to 4th-grade student Rixlee Loveless for her exceptional character and willingness to serve others. Rixlee is a quiet leader who consistently notices when someone is in need and steps up to help, especially our younger students. Her kindness and observant nature make her a vital part of our school community.
Our January Difference Makers are Ann Burroughs, Lisa McSpadden, and Sonya Wagler – our incredible High School Cafeteria Team. These ladies do so much more than just cook. From a warm morning greeting to ensuring every student has a nutritious meal, they serve up kindness with every tray and keep our school running smoothly.
We are so proud and thankful for each of you. Thank you for all you do to make MVE such a special place.

After a long day, Mrs. Young’s comfort meal of choice is anything Mexican—chips, salsa, tacos, the whole lineup. And if she could take her dream trip, she’d head to New England in the fall to enjoy the changing leaves and spend time visiting Amish communities.
As a teacher, she’s inspired by those moments when students learn something new and light up with excitement. That spark keeps her going.
One of the things Mrs. Young loves most about being part of the Warhawk Family is the sense of home. Even after moving away for 12 years, coming back to MVE felt like she never left.
When she has time to unwind, you’ll find her at home with family, crocheting, and enjoying a quiet weekend.
Her advice to students is simple and powerful: always do your best, be kind, and look for the positive in every situation.
We’re grateful to have you in our Warhawk Family, Mrs. Young!
