Cold hands need warm hearts and warm coats! 🧣🧤 Our sincerest thanks go out to Renew Church of Heber Springs for their exceptional donation.
Their commitment to our school provided coats and shoes for approximately 90 Warhawks! That is true partnership in action. 🙌
We are so grateful for your kindness and support in keeping our students snug throughout the colder months. Thank you! We appreciate you! 😊

A reminder: all wrapped gifts must be returned to the elementary office by noon on Friday, December 12th, and the angel code must be clearly marked on each gift.

If she could instantly master any skill, it would be sign language. Ashton says being able to communicate with everyone, no matter how they experience the world, would be an incredible way to make sure no one feels left out.
After a long day, you’ll find her enjoying a little comfort in the form of Nutella toast. When she dreams of travel, Ashton wants to go to South Korea to visit her family and connect with her roots. And when she needs a little boost, she sings the 100 digits of pi song — because math can be fun and uplifting!
If teaching wasn’t her path, Ashton would be diving into advanced mathematics, exploring new ways to challenge herself and others.
Ashton Millwood is a valued member of the Warhawk family, bringing dedication, creativity, and heart to everything she does and inspiring students to do their best every day.

When she’s not inspiring students to think creatively and push their limits, you can find her following her daughters to cattle shows and rodeos… sometimes both on the same weekend! Her dream vacation? Cheyenne Frontier Days — “The Daddy of ’em All” — the world’s largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration.
After a long day, Kayla’s go-to comfort food is a warm bowl of chicken and dumplings, and her advice to students is simple but powerful: “Be your best self every day and share a smile wherever you go.”
What inspires her most as a teacher? Watching students cheer each other on, encourage younger classmates, and never give up when learning something new.
Kayla says the best part of being a Warhawk is the sense of community. It feels like one big family — and she’s proud to call this place home and raise her daughters in the Warhawk family.
We’re so thankful for Mrs. Lasley’s dedication, positivity, and the way she embodies integrity, innovation, achievement, and family every day.

November has been packed with learning, fun, and plenty of Warhawk pride.
Third grade has been exploring forces and discovering what happens when they’re balanced and unbalanced. Students experimented with magnets to see how they attract and repel, learned how gravity always pulls toward Earth’s center, and tried out magnet tricks that only work when everything lines up just right. Their curiosity has been on full display.
And that’s just the beginning. From homecoming celebrations to Flight Fuel field trips, teddy bear clinics, UAMS Find Your Futures, sugar babies, and growing vegetables (and growing minds), our Warhawks have stayed busy in the very best ways.
Our 5th and 6th graders also participated in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History’s 2025 Native American History and Cultures in Arkansas program. Students made crafts, pottery, and twining projects, created their own pouches, and each received an arrowhead to take home.
Career fairs, Thanksgiving lunches, and special activities filled every corner of the district with excitement. High school students wrapped up the month with a Gaming Reward Day that brought lots of laughs and well-earned downtime.
We were also excited to receive an Arkansas Securities Department grant that will help us purchase new equipment and continue expanding opportunities for our students. Innovation is growing right alongside them.
Our elementary Thanksgiving lunch brought families together for a warm, joyful meal that filled the cafeteria with smiles, conversation, and a whole lot of gratitude. It was a reminder of the Family that makes MVE special.
The month even brought a couple of surprises. Modern gun season had plenty of students (and staff) trading stories, early mornings, and big hopes. And as if November wasn’t exciting enough, the Northern Lights made a rare appearance in Arkansas. Our Warhawks lit up social media with photos of the sky glowing in shades no one expected to see here at home.
Another big highlight: our Elementary Student Voice Team led a food drive for the community blessing boxes. Thanks to their leadership and the generosity of our families, the elementary collected and donated more than 700 items. The boxes are now stocked with full Thanksgiving meals and so much more. This is Integrity, Innovation, Achievement, and Family in action.
We’ve added tons of updated photos from across the district.

Today we celebrate Substitute Professional's Day — honoring the incredible individuals who step in, adapt, and keep learning moving forward when our teachers can’t be in the classroom.
Our substitutes are flexible, dependable, and dedicated, often stepping in at a moment’s notice to ensure our students continue to learn and grow. You are an essential part of the Warhawk family, and we are so grateful for your service, patience, and heart for education.
Thank you for making a difference in our students’ lives each and every time you walk through our doors.

With the expanded program, students will dive deeper into real-world financial literacy. According to the Arkansas Securities Department, understanding money early puts young people on the road to long-term financial success. They’ll learn how time works to their advantage, how saving even a few dollars a week adds up, and how smart decisions today can help them reach goals like college, a first car, a home, and even retirement someday.
They’ll also learn how to build an emergency fund, make informed choices, create their own financial plans, and avoid a limited lifestyle by putting savings first. These are real skills with real power.
This is Integrity, Innovation, Achievement, and Family in action… and we can’t wait to see what our Warhawks create next.
