Today we celebrate Substitute Professional's Day — honoring the incredible individuals who step in, adapt, and keep learning moving forward when our teachers can’t be in the classroom.

Our substitutes are flexible, dependable, and dedicated, often stepping in at a moment’s notice to ensure our students continue to learn and grow. You are an essential part of the Warhawk family, and we are so grateful for your service, patience, and heart for education.

Thank you for making a difference in our students’ lives each and every time you walk through our doors.

Big news for the Warhawk Landing! Our program has been awarded a grant from the Arkansas Securities Department to help expand our student-created products and take learning to the next level. We’re thrilled and so grateful for this support. The creativity our students bring to the table just keeps growing, and this grant opens the door for even more innovation.

With the expanded program, students will dive deeper into real-world financial literacy. According to the Arkansas Securities Department, understanding money early puts young people on the road to long-term financial success. They’ll learn how time works to their advantage, how saving even a few dollars a week adds up, and how smart decisions today can help them reach goals like college, a first car, a home, and even retirement someday.

They’ll also learn how to build an emergency fund, make informed choices, create their own financial plans, and avoid a limited lifestyle by putting savings first. These are real skills with real power.

This is Integrity, Innovation, Achievement, and Family in action… and we can’t wait to see what our Warhawks create next.

It's Teacher Tuesday! Let's get to know the wonderful Crystal Mills! 🌟

Crystal is inspired by watching her students grow up and become responsible young adults.

If she could instantly master any skill, it would be to learn other languages so she could travel internationally without a language barrier. This would certainly help her on her dream vacation: spending a month in a hut on the water in Bora Bora! 🌴

To lift her spirits, Crystal turns to the movie "Facing the Giants."

A true "water bug," her favorite way to spend a break is anywhere she can be on a boat, kayak, or floating in the water, working on her tan. Her students might be surprised to learn that many moons ago she was a cheerleader and a certified swim instructor!

Crystal's advice that she lives by is: "Life is going to constantly throw you curveballs, it's important to try to stay positive and persevere and never give up!"

Today is World Kindness Day — a reminder that even the smallest act of compassion can create a ripple of positivity that reaches far beyond what we can see. 💛

At MVE, kindness is part of who we are. Whether it’s a smile in the hallway, a helping hand in the classroom, or a word of encouragement to a teammate, these moments make our schools stronger and our community brighter.

Let’s take today to be intentional with our kindness — to lift each other up, celebrate our differences, and spread joy in ways that inspire others to do the same. Together, we can make kindness the norm, not the exception.

Alaska who?? We’ll Alaska the Warhawks to drop pics in the comments!! Check out these amazing pics of the northern lights spotted over Warhawk Nation! Drop your favorite in the comments and show us your best aurora shots. Did you know? Northern lights, also called the aurora borealis, happen when charged particles from the sun interact with Earth’s atmosphere. Most of the time, you have to go far north to see them, but sometimes strong solar storms make them visible in Arkansas! Learn more about the science behind the lights here: https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/phenomena/aurora Let’s light up the comments with your Warhawk northern lights photos! #FlightoftheWarhawk

You might be surprised to learn that Catherine once lived on the Yakima Native American Reservation in Idaho when she was a little girl. 🌾 These days, she enjoys spending her weekends and summers in the garden, starting plants from seeds and watching them grow — a true reflection of how she nurtures her students. 🌱

Her dream vacation spot is Alamosa, Colorado, where you can hike in sand dunes and snow on the same day! 🏔️

Catherine says she loves being a Warhawk because, even though she grew up in Conway, she has so many friends and family in the Mt. Vernon-Enola area that it feels like home. 💙

When she’s not teaching or gardening, you can find her singing hymns at church — she loves the figurative language and symbolism in them. 🎶

We’re so thankful to have Catherine as part of our MVE family!
