This week, we’re celebrating a fresh upgrade to our high school cafeteria dry storage area—a space that supports one of the most important parts of our school day: meals that fuel our Warhawks to excellence!

A huge thank you goes out to our incredible maintenance crew: Justin Rodgers, Andy McArthur, and Cutter Harris. We also want to shout out our awesome summer workers: James Rodgers, Leland Parsons, Legion Brownlee, and Braden Casteel for helping get the job done.

We’re excited to announce that Mt. Vernon-Enola School District has qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2025-2026 school year!

That means all MVE students will receive free breakfast and lunch every day, all year long! 🥞🍎🥪

No paperwork, no fees — just nutritious meals to fuel learning, achievement, and student success.

She brings reading, writing, phonics, and grammar to life for her students — and there's nothing she loves more than watching them fall in love with books and discover their own voices as writers. After a long day, you’ll likely find her reaching for anything chocolate... especially if it includes caramel or peanut butter! When she’s not in the classroom, Jennifer enjoys estate sale treasure hunting and spending time with her husband and kids. She says what she loves most about being part of the Warhawk Family is the way our community always shows up to support and grow our kids in every way. 🌟 Teacher Tuesday 🌟 Say hello to Theresa Burns, our fabulous Elementary Counselor at Mt. Vernon-Enola! Theresa pours her heart into supporting students every single day — inspired by the idea that early support can lead to brighter futures. Her work helps shape confident, resilient kids who know they’re never alone. After a long day, you’ll probably find her enjoying her favorite comfort meal — Mexican food, complete with cheese dip and salsa. Because, let’s be honest… cheese dip really does make everything better! She dreams of exploring Hawaii one day — soaking in the scenery, learning about the culture, and relaxing on those famous beaches. But when she's not dreaming of paradise, she’s spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and playing games. One of her favorite traditions is the Thankful Tree each November — a simple but powerful way for students to reflect on the good in their lives. Theresa says there's nothing quite like being part of the Warhawk Family — a close-knit community that always shows up for each other and puts students first. We’re so lucky to have Mrs. Burns leading with heart, wisdom, and warmth. #FlightoftheWarhawk

🎉 Big week ahead for Mt. Vernon-Enola FBLA! 🎉 We’re cheering on Jordan and James Rodgers (Seniors 2025) and Mason Harrison (Senior 2026) as they represent MVE at the National FBLA Convention in Anaheim, California! Jordan will compete in Financial Math on Monday, June 30 at 2:00 pm. James will compete in Economics and Mason will compete in Advertising on Tuesday, July 1 at 11:00 am. While they are not preparing or competing, they have the opportunity to explore the area, see the sights, gain new experiences, and meet so many new people from across the country. What an amazing opportunity and experience this is for our students. These students have shown achievement through hard work, integrity in their leadership, and innovation in their competitive events — all while being a proud part of our Warhawk family. We are so proud of their accomplishments and wish them the best as they compete on the national stage. Teacher Tuesday spotlight! Meet Ashley Bonds! After a long day, you’ll find Mrs. Bonds unwinding with movie theater popcorn, a Dr. Pepper, and some chocolate covered raisins. Her dream vacation? Scotland and Ireland — she’d love to explore her ancestral homes. This year she’s teaching the same old, same old, with an exciting twist — a new pathway called Pre‑Educator! What inspires her as a teacher? The moments when the lightbulb goes on and when the whole class is engaged, sharing ideas and learning from each other. If she weren’t teaching, you might be surprised to learn she’d be doing… well, that’s one to ask her about! But she loves being part of the Warhawk Family because it really is a family. On weekends or summer breaks, you’ll find her camping in the mountains by a cool stream. Her favorite classroom tradition? The Food Truck Project in Food Safety — it’s a favorite every year!
