Mt. Vernon-Enola School District is aware of the “Cat in the Hat” trend currently circulating on social media.
At this time, no threats have been made toward Mt. Vernon–Enola School District.
The safety and security of our students and staff is always our highest priority. We remain vigilant and take any threat—or information that could potentially impact the safety of our schools—very seriously.
Our district works closely with our School Resource Officers and the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office. We are extremely thankful for their continued partnership and commitment to the safety of our students, staff, and school community.
Like many online trends, students may view participation as a joke or harmless fun; however, when social media content involves other students, school property, disruption to the school day, or inappropriate behavior, it can quickly become a safety and disciplinary concern.
Parents and families can help us by:
• Talking with your student about responsible social media use and the lasting impact of what they post, share, or encourage.
• Reminding students not to participate in, record, share, or promote disruptive or inappropriate social media challenges.
• Monitoring your student’s social media activity and discussing trends they are seeing online.
• Encouraging students to report concerning posts or planned activities to a trusted adult rather than sharing them with others.
Our goal is not to give these trends more attention, but to work together to keep them from disrupting learning or creating unsafe situations at school. We will continue to monitor the situation and will communicate with our families if there is any information specific to our district that needs to be shared.
Thank you for partnering with MVE School District to help our students make safe, responsible choices—both at school and online.

Research continues to show just how important involved fathers and father figures are in the lives of children. Children with involved fathers have a stronger foundation for well-being and are at lower risk for a number of poor childhood outcomes, including behavioral problems, poor school performance, substance abuse, and more. National data also highlights the significant challenges children can face when a father is absent from the home.
That’s why we are excited about our All Pro Dad chapter! These monthly meetings give dads and father figures an opportunity to spend intentional time with their children at school—having fun, building relationships, and making memories together.
Our next All Pro Dad meeting is coming up!
📅 September 10
⏰ 7:15–7:45 AM
📍 Mt. Vernon-Enola Elementary

Dads, grandpas, stepdads, uncles, mentors, and other positive father figures—we would love to have you join us. Your presence matters, and sometimes the simplest investment of time can make the biggest difference.

Thanks to the vision and leadership of Officer Jones, our Warhawks have an exciting new way to grow, serve, and shine. When asked about the impact of the program, Officer Jones shared that the goal is to give students a positive sense of responsibility, leadership, and purpose while building confidence, teamwork, and strong decision-making skills.
Our patrol members are stepping up as positive role models by assisting with parent drop-off, greeting classmates, and taking true ownership in keeping our school safe and welcoming.
This program perfectly reflects our core values:
Integrity: Building everyday accountability and doing the right thing for our campus.
Innovation: Empowering students with fresh opportunities to practice age-appropriate safety leadership.
Achievement: Celebrating personal growth, confidence, and teamwork in action.
Family: Coming together to foster a warm, supportive, and safe community for every student.
We are so proud of our Warhawks for stepping into these leadership roles!

Each morning, these awesome students are hard at work preparing and delivering fresh coffee to teachers and staff across our elementary campus. But Flight Fuel is about so much more than coffee! Through the program, students are building real-world skills in communication, teamwork, money management, responsibility, organization, and independence.
We are so proud of these students and the hard work they put in to make Flight Fuel possible each day!
We also want to send a huge THANK YOU to Brandon Whitfield for helping secure a generous donation of coffee and creamers from Snell Prosthetics & Orthotics for our Flight Fuel cart. We appreciate our community partners who invest in opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and build confidence.

39 MVE students are currently enrolled in 108 concurrent classes — the most in our district's history! 📚
(Quick explainer: concurrent credit means high schoolers take college-level courses and earn high school AND college credit at the same time — before they even graduate!)
Huge shoutout to our partnership with ASUB for making this possible!
So what's the big deal about concurrent credit? Ms. Raby broke it down for parents recently, and it's honestly a game-changer for our students:
✅ Earn high school AND college credit at the same time
✅ Save THOUSANDS on future college tuition
✅ Walk into college with coursework already done
✅ Get a taste of college-level expectations — with MVE support still in their corner
✅ Build confidence before they ever cross that graduation stage
We are so proud of these 39 Warhawks for taking on the challenge! 💙🤍

There’s something special about a school bell.
This year, a bell has found a new home at MVE Elementary, and we’re starting a brand-new tradition with it! On the first day of school, our Kindergarten students had the honor of ringing the bell as they began their journey as Warhawks. 💙🤍
But here’s where we need our MVE Family…
We know this bell has a story—we just don’t know exactly what that story is! We’ve heard bits and pieces about its history and its connection to the Enola campus, but rather than repeat stories we can’t verify, we’d love to hear from YOU.
🔔 Do you remember this bell?
🔔 Do you know where it originally came from?
🔔 Was it used at the old Enola school?
🔔 Do you have a memory, photo, newspaper clipping, yearbook picture, or story that might help us piece together its history?
Chime in (yes, we absolutely went there 😄) in the comments! We’d love to learn more about this little piece of MVE history while our youngest Warhawks give it a new purpose.
And the bell isn’t the only tradition making some noise at the elementary!
Friday Morning Dance Parties are BACK! 🎶 Our students are starting Fridays with music, dancing, smiles, and plenty of energy. Some traditions are historical mysteries…and some are just plain FUN!
We also want to give a BIG thank-you to some people who helped our Warhawks beat the back-to-school heat. ☀️
💙 MVE PTO provided popsicles for our students.
🤍 Our MVE Maintenance & Transportation Department provided water for students on the buses and helped keep our elementary car riders cooler with shade and fans.
From ringing a bell for the very first time, to bringing back Friday dance parties, to taking care of one another when Arkansas decides to turn the thermostat ALL the way up…this is what Family looks like at MVE.
Here’s to old stories, new traditions, and another great year to be a Warhawk! 💙🤍

Please be safe in the extreme heat and we hope to see you all on Wednesday!
