October 8 is National Be a Teacher Day, and we’re celebrating MVE seniors Peyton Dykstra and Destany Meredith as they explore a future in teaching through Intro to Education!
Before they have classrooms of their own, they’re getting a look at what teaching really takes. Understanding children’s needs. Learning how to communicate and manage a classroom. Watching lessons unfold and seeing how teachers help students along the way.
For Peyton, that experience already means a lot:

Destany is making those connections, too:

National Be a Teacher Day gives high school students opportunities to explore the profession through hands-on experiences and connections with colleges and teacher preparation programs. It’s a chance to ask questions, learn about the path to becoming a teacher, and see what’s possible.

Our students showed up and showed out at the Faulkner County Fair last week ready to put their hard work on display! From the livestock barns to Ag Mechanics projects and even the cookie entries, these Warhawks gave us plenty to celebrate.
Behind every entry were hours of preparation, early mornings, practice, and people cheering them on. We are so proud of EVERY Warhawk competitor and the effort it took to step into that ring or enter that project!

Mrs. Megan Hyman, Mt. Vernon-Enola Elementary Principal, and Mrs. Jennifer Raby, Mt. Vernon-Enola High School Principal, pour so much into our students, staff, and schools every single day.
Being a principal is so much more than meetings, schedules, and making decisions. It’s greeting kids in the hallway, celebrating the wins, handling the hard stuff, answering a million questions before 9:00 a.m., supporting teachers, talking with parents, solving problems no one else even knew existed…and then coming back the next day ready to do it all again!

Our annual flu shot clinic will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Mt. Vernon-Enola Elementary and High School.
If you would like your child to receive a flu shot at school, please complete and return the required forms to the school office by Monday, September 28.
