Ms. Gillette hopes students remember her as someone who was patient and always believed in them. She enjoys the daily conversations and laughs with students and loves seeing their confidence grow when they understand something new.
She works to create a space where students feel welcomed, supported, and comfortable being themselves, and reminds them to keep trying because mistakes are part of learning.
We appreciate the positive impact Ms. Gillette makes each day.

With the threat of severe weather today and tomorrow, storm shelters at Mt. Vernon–Enola Schools will be open to the public if our area is placed under an active tornado warning.
Storm shelter access:
High School Campus – Access through the north parking lot inside the fence. Enter through the north door at the ramp.
Elementary Campus – Park on the east side of the playground. The gate will be open. Enter through the brown door.
Please remember space inside the shelters is limited. Bring only essential items, and there is a strict no pets rule. We ask everyone to be respectful and considerate of those around them during severe weather events.
Our administrative team will be closely monitoring the situation. As always, the safety of our students, staff, and community remains our top priority.
Please stay weather aware and take shelter immediately if a tornado warning is issued.

Learning is in full swing across our high school classrooms! 💙
Our art students spent the week exploring the techniques of Bob Ross, learning about blending, brush control, and landscape composition. They wrapped up the week by following along with an episode of The Joy of Painting to create their own masterpieces—and the results were incredible!
In Mrs. Crawford’s Survey of Business class, students took on a hands-on project focused on real-world skills. They began by discussing the wants and needs of city workers and then designed their own businesses to meet those needs. Along the way, they learned about different types of businesses, what makes a city attractive, and the importance of presentation. Students created inspiration and vision boards before building their physical businesses, carefully considering location and profitability. They also explored marketing strategies and are finishing the year by learning about laws, such as OSHA, that impact businesses.
Mrs. Amy’s 8th grade students have also been busy with hands-on learning, building solar robots and catapults. These projects help students develop important life skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, critical thinking, and perseverance—skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
Thanks to a generous donation from New Life Church of Conway, our “Shoe Earned It” incentive kicked off in April! Students have the opportunity to earn tickets through grades, attendance, monthly rewards, and good deeds. Each week, tickets are drawn and students can win a new pair of shoes. So far, 32 students have earned a brand new pair of Nikes!
We love seeing our students engaged, learning, and being recognized for their hard work!
