🍎 Tuesday Teacher Spotlight 🍎

Meet Mrs. Cassie Latta — better known to her students as Mrs. Cassie!

She loves the craft of teaching and lives for those “aha” moments when everything clicks for her students. One of her favorite classroom traditions is Flashlight Read Fridays, a student favorite year after year.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Cassie enjoys traveling and unwinding by binge-watching a good mini series. She also loves being part of the Warhawk family for the strong family atmosphere that makes our school so special.

We’re grateful for Mrs. Cassie and the heart she brings to our students every day! 💙

It’s National Ag Teacher Appreciation Day and FFA Week, and we couldn’t be more proud of Mr. Seth Taylor! 💙🌾

Mr. Taylor has built an incredible agriculture program that gives our students hands-on experiences and real-world skills they’ll carry for life. He spends countless hours preparing students — and animals — not just for competitions, but for success beyond the classroom.

The skills, knowledge, and confidence our students gain through his leadership make a lasting impact. Thank you, Mr. Taylor, for all you do for our Warhawk Family and for shaping the future of agriculture education at MVE.

Thank you to everyone who came out for Parent-Teacher and CAP Conferences. It was so good to see our families on campus and have meaningful conversations about student progress. When school and home work together, our students benefit — that connection makes a powerful difference in their success. 💙

We also want to celebrate some exciting academic growth. Our 7th, 8th, and 9th grade math students set growth goals after the ATLAS interims in September, and last week they exceeded those goals on the most recent interims. They are truly smashing their math goals! You can see more pictures of the students who exceeded their math goals here:

We are also proud to have had four elementary students compete in the Arch Ford Spelling Bee, with three placing in the top 10. Colton Ivy, a 3rd grader, placed 3rd overall. Cooper Weatherly, a 5th grader, and Clara Cavin, a 6th grader, both placed in the top 10. What an outstanding accomplishment! More elementary pictures can be seen here:

And best of luck to our Senior Boys Basketball Team as they compete tonight in the District Championship game! We are cheering you on, Warhawks!

There is always so much to celebrate at MVE. We are proud of our Warhawks and love seeing the progress, determination, and growth happening across our campus.

February 2026 Board Meeting Recap 💙

At this month’s board meeting, our team shared updates and continued planning with one goal in mind — providing the best education possible for our students.

We remain focused on our core values of family and achievement — supporting one another, holding high expectations, and ensuring every Warhawk has the opportunity to grow and succeed. From instructional updates to program planning and student recognition, the work being done is always centered on what is best for our students and school community.

Congratulations to our February High Flyer, Dylan Henry, and to our Difference Makers, Laura Wells, Melissa Chalk, and Martha Ussery-Zenon Arana. We are grateful for the positive impact each of you has on our students and school community.

There’s always so much to celebrate at MVE!

MVE FFA had two students compete at the Northwest District LDE contest yesterday:
🥇 Abigail Wagler placed 1st in Prepared Public Speaking, qualifying for state!
🏅 Kailyn Burroughs placed 4th in Discussion Meet, also qualifying for state!
Abigail and Kailyn will compete at the State LDE contest in April.

And congratulations to Junior Emily Simpson for an incredible performance last night against St. Joe in the District Quarterfinals — 12 three-pointers and 36 total points!

We are proud of our Warhawks and all they continue to accomplish.

It’s Teacher Tuesday, and today we’re celebrating Mrs. Kerri Pearce! 💙

Mrs. Pearce’s advice to students, families, and friends is simple and heartfelt: have fun and do your best. She loves Senior Step Up because it’s a fun and easy way to see so many different class personalities shine.

When summer break rolls around, you’ll most likely find her on the water — kayaking or tubing down a river with friends. Her dream vacation is a road trip along the eastern seaboard, from Maine to Florida, stopping at all the must-see spots along the way.

And here’s something her students might be surprised to learn… she’s been skydiving twice and would absolutely do it again!

We’re thankful for the energy, creativity, and heart Mrs. Pearce brings to MVE every day.

Warhawk love was in the air 💙

The Senior Boys and Senior Girls Basketball Teams made a special trip to visit with our elementary students, spending time connecting and celebrating together. Sixth grade students had the opportunity to make chocolate-covered strawberries for a sweet Valentine’s treat, and classrooms enjoyed their Valentine’s Day parties throughout the day.

Wally even joined in on the Friday dance party, bringing extra energy and fun to an already exciting day!

There’s nothing better than seeing our older students step into leadership roles and spend meaningful time with our younger Warhawks. Moments like these strengthen our school community and highlight the pride, connection, and sense of family that make MVE such a special place.

Don’t let their smiles fool you… they are fiercely protective of our Warhawks! We’re grateful for everything they do to keep our school family safe and supported.

Our Warhawks have many varied interests, and we love celebrating how well-rounded they are. We’re proud to have a place where all of those passions can shine!

Sophomore Kylie Jo Lasley has been tearing it up in the show ring this year and also serves as the Arkansas Junior Cattleman’s Association Secretary. Meanwhile, 3rd grade little sister Kentley prefers the rodeo arena. She and her horse, Fred, are making some impressive runs! This weekend she placed 1st in Poles with the fastest run of the day across all age divisions! We are so proud of these Warhawks and their dedication to pursuing what they love.

Special delivery at MVE! 💙

Our Kindergarten students recently wrote their own stories — and some even wrote poetry — all at their grade level to encourage reading and spark their creativity. They illustrated their characters as part of learning about 2D shapes and design in both art and the classroom.

Then our High School Art students stepped in and brought those drawings to life as stuffed “stuffies,” transforming 2D creations into 3D works of art. This week, they delivered those creations to the Elementary — and the smiles said it all.

Moments like this are what make our district special. Students are creating bonds, making memories together, and reaching across campuses to support and celebrate one another. It’s a beautiful example of family in action and learning connected across grade levels.

We love seeing our Warhawks connect, collaborate, and lift each other up.
