Future Ready Friday... Did you know MVE High School has a Peer Mentoring Program designed to build strong, positive relationships and support student growth? The MVE Mentoring Program helps students navigate academic and emotional challenges by pairing them with a trained peer mentor. It’s a proactive way to reduce behavioral issues and promote a supportive school culture—because sometimes, the best support comes from a friend who understands. Referrals can be made by students, parents, teachers, counselors, or principals. Once matched, both the mentor and mentee receive training to ensure a meaningful experience for both. Starts tomorrow, Tuesday, May 27th! Make sure you get your students registered! 🏀 It's time for the 24th Annual Warhawk Basketball Camp! 🏀 Girls and boys entering grades 3 through 9 are invited to join us for three fun-filled days of basketball skills and games! Where: Mt. Vernon-Enola High School Gym at 38 Garland Springs Rd, Mt. Vernon When: Girls Camp - Registration: Tuesday, May 27 from 7:30 to 8:00 am - Clinic: May 27 through May 29 from 8:00 to 11:00 am Boys Camp - Registration: Tuesday, May 27 from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm - Clinic: May 27 through May 29 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm Cost: $40 per student, $20 for each additional student in the same household All participants will receive a camp T-shirt. The concession stand will be open each day for campers to purchase candy, popsicles, and drinks. The goal of the camp is to introduce and improve basketball fundamentals, develop team and individual skills, and have a great time doing it! Hank the Therapy Dog sure knows how to bring the fun — and the competition! From April 21 to May 2, our elementary students jumped into a wild coin war in honor of National Therapy Animal Day on April 30. Pennies were positive points, silver coins were sabotage, and the kids absolutely loved it! 🐾 First grade took the win with 1,190 points, and together our PreK–6th students raised an incredible $717.83! Thanks to their generosity, Hank was able to purchase basketballs, kickballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, baseballs, tennis balls, rainbow balls, frisbees, parachutes, bubbles, chalk, and two indoor sensory walks! 🎉 Way to go, Warhawks — and thank you, Hank and Ms. Jessica for helping make it all possible! #FlightoftheWarhawk
